Caney Creek enters the 2019 season with a large senior class and a new head coach. While the two parties enter the new year with differing levels of experience at the school, they share a common goal of success. “The girls are responding to me pretty well, I think,” coach Joshua Culp said in a recent phone interview. “We’ve got a lot of girls out this year we’re up to about 35 right now so there’s people who want to be a part of it. We’ve got pretty good buy-in from the older kids, so I’m excited to see how this year pans out.” This season will be Culp’s first as a head softball coach. Most recently, he was an athletic director and head football coach in West Texas.
